More chocolate-covered goodness!

The new ad from the "Glass and a Half Full" production team of Cadbury's lacks a gorilla, but certainly makes up for it with a sweet (pardon the pun!) convoy of airport vehicles taking to the runway to race it out after hours. A little too much build up and not enough funny moments within the "race" itself, but still made me chuckle. The highlight is most definitely the slow-motion truck launching itself over the discarded luggage - classic!

Maybe the gorilla was driving one of the trucks, hmm?

Chocolate-covered holiday goodness

Easter hols are finally here so figured now was the best time to get my arse in gear and sort out some lovely work to entertain you all with. As promised, my entry for the MPA Roses competition is here now. The brief in question was titled "Talk", the purpose being to encourage people to talk more on public transport. Not being a stranger and all that jazz.

So here it is! *Drumroll please, maestro!*

Also, this time last week an event was held at The Cube in Manchester to showcase the winners of the MPA awards along with some of the runners-up. Unfortunately my work didn't make it to the winners' wall, but did make it to the runners-up. Needless to say, I was rather chuffed!

Last week also saw our class being thrown into a familiar mess of foamboard and bubble wrap for those of us entering D&AD. By Thursday the work was done, though some of it last minute (it just wouldn't be D&AD without a little stress added to the mix!) At the end of the day I entered the Best Beginnings breastfeeding brief, along with the What Else Do You Do? brief at the eleventh hour.

As before with MPA, all that's left is to wait and see what happens, though judging only takes place in late April. Pleased with my entries nevertheless, so now it's time to crack on with everything else! It's 9 weeks this Friday until our final deadline for all of our uni work to be done and dusted. Needless to say, I'm starting to get a little worried! We also have a trip to TBWA in Manchester coming up on 15th April for the GHD brief, so best get my skates on sharpish! It's all work, work, work in this gig! : )

The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Gruesome

The worst cancer awareness campaign in the history of anything. EVER. I mean come on - who the hell wrote this brief? We've heard of fussy clients who dumb down potentially amazing work, but for one to give something like this the go-ahead? Well, let's just say that particular someone is probably going to be out of a job soon!

The icing on this disgusting cake has got to be the little graphic man - like we want to be shown a bleeding arsehole, even if it is only a cartoon!

If I ever find somebody who believes this to be a good way of communicating with an easily scared audience, then I will place that person upon a pedestal. And throw large rocks at them.

Monkey boy!

Choo-choo! Next stop, Comedy Central! You may have noticed a slight comedic theme going on here, but hey that's me - love a good chuckle I do : ) The god of comedy himself this time - oh how I love this man! Probably the funniest of his jokes and you'll never look at horses in the same way again! If there was ever a good excuse to piss your pants, this is it right here!
