This last week has gone oddly fast in the run-up to TBWA - no sooner had I thought "Ooh, only one week to go!" than it was Saturday and I was heading to Manchester for a pre-placement teamtalk with Sarah. Admittedly I was a little worried we'd have lost something of our sparkle since our stint at AND Partners was such a long time ago, but we set down to think on some new ways to make ourselves memorable and to get our branding out there, and I think it's safe to say that Team Sparkley is back with a vengeance!
Be afraid, be very afraid!
As it's a new year, we have a whole new gameplan, with plans to give the book an overhaul (our work is sacred no longer!) and to set up a site to showcase our work, as well as getting our name out to all and sundry in an attempt to kick the recession's ass!
Whilst discussing our plans for global advertising domination, we headed to our favourite place in Manchester - the Urbis. Lucky for us, the D&AD Annuals showcase was on, with every annual on display from 45 years ago when it all began. Was great to see how it had all progressed from 1963 to present day, managing to maintain the same degree of effortless savvy and coolness each and every year. Yes, we are advertising geeks and we love it!
1986 - Year of the Sarah
1987 - Year of the Hayley
Heggers, we love you!
As the earlier noted candyfloss suggests, we were rather excited yesterday! Bring on the advertising!
